Rose oil has many properties and is used not only for facial skin. Its main components include terpenes, glycosides, flavonoids and anthocyanins. It owes its intense scent to the high content of terpenes, which are its most important component. Unfortunately, they are also the most allergenic. In addition, rose oil has antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, anticancer and relaxing properties. It shows many positive properties and its application is very wide

Rose oil and skin

Without a doubt, rose oil is most often found in body care products. You can find it in lotions, face creams or shower gels. The pure oil contains vitamin E and C, as well as unsaturated fatty acids. Vitamins C and E are strong antioxidants, which neutralize free radicals negatively affecting the skin. Moreover, they protect against UV radiation. Rose oil is recommended for dry, dehydrated and mature skin. It smoothes wrinkles, increases skin firmness, moisturizes, and when used under the eyes it reduces puffiness and signs of fatigue

Rose oil and health

As mentioned earlier, rose oil has many properties, which have a positive effect on the human body. It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes irritated and sensitive skin. It strengthens blood vessels and eliminates the visible ones. What is more, it reduces redness and is recommended in the treatment of any skin lesions. It brightens scars, normalizes the work of sebaceous glands and reduces acne scars

Rose oil is a support in strong and chronic migraine pain, reduces nausea and menstrual pain. In this case, it is enough to massage a few drops of it into the lower abdomen. What is more, it is one of the few to soothe burns caused by radioactive radiation

Rose oil and relaxation

Rose oil has a characteristic scent which has a positive effect on the psyche and mood. It effectively relieves stress, improves mood, relaxes, soothes nerves and helps with insomnia problems. The substance also has one interesting property, namely, it is one of the strongest natural aphrodisiacs. It is recommended to all who have problems with too low libido. Apparently, even a few drops can work wonders

What do we use rose oil for?

Rose oil, although it is one of the most expensive oils in the world, is very efficient and a small bottle lasts for a very long time. In its pure form, it is used in

  • facial care – the oil has a soothing and rejuvenating effect, strengthens blood vessels, making them less visible,
  • production of cosmetics – it is used not only for face products, but also for the whole body, it soothes sensitive skin and all irritations,
  • massage – 3, 4 drops of rose oil mixed with olive oil or other oil has a great effect on sore muscles and skin,
  • aromatherapy – rose oil has a relaxing, analgesic and stress-relieving effect. Just pour a few drops of the oil into a special aromatherapy fireplace and enjoy the soothing scent,
  • bath – before bathing, it is worth pouring into the bath a few drops of pure oil, it can be diluted in a spoon of honey. The mixture will provide an aromatic and calming bath after a long day

Contraindications for the use of rose oil

Rose oil has a strong allergenic effect due to the terpenes it contains. Caution is advised when using it. It is best to perform an allergy test before use. Apply a thin layer of the oil to a small area of skin

If no redness appears after 48 hours, the oil is safe for the skin. Allergies may occur in people with severe skin lesions, atopic dermatitis and skin prone to irritation. In addition, pregnant women should minimize its use on the skin.
