Dark and cold evenings are conducive to frequent stay at home, where we recharge our batteries with a TV series, a game or an interesting book. The only thing missing is a perfectly warming drink, which will allow us to fully relax.

Autumn is a good time to stop running at full speed – it’s a time to take care of your mental health, find harmony between life and work, and detox from the constant online presence. Get inspired by these autumn recipes and take a break.

Golden milk

This is a drink derived from traditional Hindu medicine. Golden milk has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and helps fight infections. It can be helpful for people who have trouble sleeping. To prepare the drink, heat the milk in a saucepan, but do not boil it. Milk can be cow’s milk or vegan milk – oat milk in particular will work well. To 250 ml of milk add a teaspoon of powdered turmeric, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a pinch of cayenne pepper and half a teaspoon of grated ginger. You can sweeten the drink with cane sugar, maple syrup or honey.

Coffee with spices

Autumn weather often makes us sleepy, which can help an aromatic coffee – preferably prepared with freshly ground beans, with a strong flavor and properly spiced. In the autumn, the best coffees are those single-origin coffeesfrom a single growing region. Costa Rican beans have caramel, nutty and fruity notes, with a predominance of peach – this can be an interesting option to energize and warm you up on a cold evening. If you like spicy notes, add ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and cardamom to your brewed coffee. Gingerbread spice and ground ginger will also work well. You can add frothed milk to your coffee and sweeten the drink with maple syrup, date syrup or honey.

If you like the taste of coffee but can’t sleep after drinking it, check out limited edition coffee beans. You can choose from decaffeinated coffees as well as refined beans from around the world. The Mexican variant, for example, features a tempting combination of honey and vanilla. You can find a wide selection of coffees and barista tips at: https://mkfresh.pl/.

Autumn tea

Black tea with additions is an autumn classic. After brewing 250 ml in a pot, add 15 ml of raspberry juice, a wide slice each of lemon and orange, a teaspoon of grated ginger and a few cloves. It’s best if you scoop the orange with them, because that way they won’t float all over the pitcher. Autumn tea tastes great with spicy cookies.

Hot chocolate with chili

You can make hot chocolate with cow’s milk or in a vegan version. Melt 20g of dark chocolate with 50g of coconut milk or cream in a water bath. To 200 ml of milk, add the melted chocolate, 10g of cocoa and a pinch of chili

Citrus and ginger infusion

To prepare the infusion, you first need to peel the ginger thoroughly. Grate it into small pieces on a grater, then put it in a pot, pour water over it and simmer for a quarter of an hour. Transfer the infusion to a jar and keep it in the refrigerator or sterilize it. Pour about 50 ml of the infusion into a mug and pour hot water over it. Add orange and lemon slices. If desired, spice the drink with turmeric or cloves.
