You do not need any fertilizers or supplements to delight every year tasty and large crops. Why is it worth to decide on them? You don’t have to constantly nurture and look after them, because they do very well in all conditions. Strawberry seedlings should do well even in a pot. So if you don’t have a larger garden on your property, you can have many plants – including herbs and fruits – in pots on your balcony.

Blueberries – fruiting shrubs for the garden with kids

Blueberries are healthy and tasty. They provide a lot of nutrients to the body. In their composition there are antioxidants, which fight free radicals and protect the body from their negative effects. It is worth having a few shrubs in your garden. They are distinguished by their smooth leaf surface, large number of fruits and their height. The good news is, however, that they don’t have thorns, so you can safely plant them even in a garden where children and animals often roam.

Currants – thornless fruit bushes

Thornless shrubs include the currant. They are tasty and nutritious fruits that are rich in vitamin C. It is worth having them in your garden, because eaten regularly they strengthen the body and prepare the immune system for the demanding autumn and winter period, when we are particularly vulnerable to attack by pathogenic microorganisms. Currant bushes do not take up much space in the garden, and what’s more, they are very easy to maintain. A popular variety is the red currant, which is sweet, which is why it is so beloved by children. However, it is recommended to plant two varieties in the yard – red and black, because they differ not only in color, but also in taste and composition.

Thornless fruit bushes – raspberries

It may seem that raspberries are shrubs with thorns, which are absolutely not suitable for the garden, where children and animals move around. However, there is one variety of thornless raspberries available in Poland. It is Glen Ample raspberry, which is recommended for families with children. Its advantages are not only the lack of thorns, but also the appearance and taste of the fruit. They are distinguished by a very sweet taste, and their fruits are much larger than the traditional variety.

Blackberries – thornless fruit bushes

Many people think that blackberries have thorns. The traditional variety does indeed have a lot of them, however, there are thornless blackberry bushes available in Poland, which are perfect for a garden where you care about the safety of children. A popular variety is Nessy, which not only has no thorns, but also gives larger and much tastier fruits. The Jumbo bush, which has much larger blackberries, is also very popular. Picking them for children is a real fun. For people who don’t like to spend a lot of time looking after plants in the garden, the Navaho variety is recommended. It is a variety with a tall structure, which has rigid vines. As a result, it does not need additional support and pruning.

Which thornless shrubs to choose – gooseberries

Gooseberries of the thornless variety Pax will also work perfectly. In addition, it has dark-colored fruit, which can not be missed among the greenery.
